Thank you, this was what we're interested in.
I'll provide an example of why I find that odd and preferred to see the target
list without any need to click/type.
You taught me how to link in a fast way which allows me to focus more on
writing (ie. type Foobar, CTRL-K, click on the page again = link is applied and
it points to a page named Foobar). Seeing the list (hence, the possible red
links - assuming the search engine works as it should, of course) makes me
realize immediately if the target exists or not without an extra click. 
I know I am not the only one who finds the target suggestions list a pretty
awesome feature, therefore putting it an extra click away makes less sense to
me as an experienced editor.
