            Bug ID: 69711
Summary: VisualEditor: After you create a link and close the
link inspector, please de-select the newly linked text
           Product: VisualEditor
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: General
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected], [email protected]
       Web browser: ---
   Mobile Platform: ---

Steps to reproduce:

1. Type some text: "Foo bar baz bat"

2. Select the last word, because you want to create a wikilink before you
finish typing the sentence.

3. Type Command-K to create a link.

4. Make a link. Click "Done".

5. Finish typing the sentence.

6. Oops, where did [[bat]] go?

Results:

When you exit the link inspector, the linked text remains highlighted, and
typing results in it being overwritten by your next character.

Expectation: after I've made a link, de-select the link and put the cursor at
the end of the word, so I can keep writing.
