Hello.
On Portuguese Wikipedia, we are rebuilding the Wikiproject Health and, after a
few months of discussions, improvements, new ideas, we decided that we could
make use of a mailing list. [1]
Mailing list would be used to discuss activities with newcomers that are not
yet used with on-wiki discussion, but are interested on participating of
Wikipedia on the Medicine and Health area with their personal emails. We
sometimes get in touch with interested people that work on Health area and want
to learn how they can help Wikipedia with their knowledge. They are sent to
non-specific mailing lists or personal mails or just lose interest. That is a
perfect way to have them linked with activities and organize better their
participation.
A few editors of community, informed us that we would benefit from having a
mailing list as they can point to it on several other communities that work on
the area and could be interested on improving articles.
It is suggested that the name on the mailing list should contain the word
"saude", which means "health" in Portuguese. List should be public and keep
archives.
