--- Comment #6 from Liangent <[email protected]> 2010-06-20 16:26:20 UTC --- 1. There's no variant is 'canonical'. Pointing variant links to correct pages is by converting a link to its all possible variants, and check whether any page with a variant as title exists one by one. Titles stored in database also have different variants -- it depends on the creator. 2. Case converting rules are fixed, but variant converting rules (zh rules. sr, tg ones are fixed) are not -- because it's difficult to guarantee a set of rules never makes mistakes. See [[zh:Wikipedia:字词转换请求或候选]]. People propose new rules (or fix old rules), and [[zh:User:PhiLiP]] may add them to MediaWiki at a time. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
