It lets us see what features are working well and what features aren't. It's helped us make the app as good as it is now, and it's helping us make it even better. I cannot, in good conscience, deny the team access to this data, because it's how we understand what we're doing well at and, more important, what we're not doing well at. That said, I hear where you're coming from. Privacy is important. That's why we built the opt-out in the first place. There are many products deployed today on the Wikimedia cluster that collect data and don't even have such opt-outs.
