Summary: SF default= behaviour changed
Product: MediaWiki extensions
Version: any
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: Normal
Component: SemanticForms
AssignedTo: [email protected]

Hi.
I'm running SF 2.1.2 and I've noticed that the default= behaviour seems
to have changed.
I have:
| {{{field|Time|input type=text|size=8|default=9am}}}
However, if the user deliberately clears the field (because they do not
want the time at all), when the page is saved the default value is set.
Also when editing using Edit with Form the default value is applied again.
It did not do this with earlier versions (tested with 2.0.9). The field used to
stay cleared as the user wanted. The above is a trivial example. I have loads
of use cases that are now broken by this changed behaviour.
Having the form re-populate with the default is a real pain. A null input is
just as valid as a populated one in certain cases!
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Neill.
