Bug #: 29375
Summary: Implement a way to "create an article"
Product: MediaWiki
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Unprioritized
Component: Special pages
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Classification: Unclassified
Since the last bugzilla upgrade for us I've been impressed by the "Enter a new
bug" interface. The seach and suggest interface behind it is better than
BugZilla's "real" search function (so much that I sometimes use it as search :D
).
Anyway, back to MediaWiki, we kindof have it reversed. Our search front-end
(not talking about the backend) is pretty cool, but there really is no
dedicated way to "create" a new page or article.
So I was thinking a way to create a new article (be it Special:NewArticle, or
action=create (implied on action=edit for inexisting pages / from redlinks).
That would start with a title input field, which functions like a search bar
(to avoid duplicates) that searches through the main namespace.
Below that would be the editor etc. like an edit page.
