In Firefox 5.0 (working with OpenSuSE 11.4) videos could not be shown in
commons.wikimedia.org. No problem in Google Chrome
I found a article
"http://www.frankenware.de/webintegration/38-html/53-ogg-video-firefox-x";
(sorry, in german) which describes the problem and also the possible solution.
Posted to "mediawiki" because i don't find a "server" bug. Hope it helps.
