--- Comment #2 from Brandon Harris <[email protected]> 2011-10-08 02:56:04 UTC --- I don't believe that making the "site icon" into a button is the correct solution here. In fact, I think it's the *wrong* thing to do. Users have been trained for years to assume that the site icon, when clicked, will take them to the Home Page. In fact, on all Wikipedia sites, this is the current behavior. A dropdown for additional options and settings will need to be called out for what it is, exactly, and will require it's own degree of real estate. Without spending much time thinking about this, I can see something like this: [site icon] [search input] [search icon] [config arrow]. Where "config arrow" is a downward pointing arrow with a "gear" icon in it. An aside, btw: we should totally ditch the "search icon is a special button" thing and just design it into the box. The current visuals are kind of clunky and reminiscent of, oh, 1999. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
