TASK DESCRIPTION
(My apologies if this has been discussed and rejected at some point in the past, or if this task is a duplicate. If so, please feel free to directly close this one.)
Currently, Wikidata links HTML pages of entities with each other by using default canonical URLs (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5) and not by using concept URIs (http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q5). However, this practice isn't consistent with the way we want entities to be linked from external websites nor is consistent with the basic principles of the Linked Data.
Canonical URIs should be replaced by concept URIs in, at least, all content namespaces in Wikidata (Wikibase) unless there are strong reasons not to do so that I haven't identified yet.
