TASK DESCRIPTION
This task will track the racking, setup, and installation of two new wdqs systems, wdqs1009 & wdqs1010.
Racking Proposal: Currently, there are 7 other wdqs systems (wdqs1002-1008). Of those 7, only 1 (wdqs2002) is out of warranty. As such, we should attempt to place the two new wdqs systems in racks other than the existing ones. However, if there has to be overlap of one, overlap with wdqs2002. 7 racks is a LOT of racks to try to avoid using, so minimal overlap may be expected. (These are 1G NIC systems, so no reason to put in a future 10G rack when avoidable.)
The locations of the other wdqs servers are (in order of wdqs1002-1009): c7, a4, a6, d3, a1, b1, d1.
wdqs1009:
- - receive in system on #procurement task T186713
- - rack system with proposed racking plan (see above) & update racktables (include all system info plus location)
- - bios/drac/serial setup/testing
- - mgmt dns entries added for both asset tag and hostname
- - network port setup (description, enable, private vlan)
- end on-site specific steps
- - production dns entries added (private vlan)
- - operations/puppet update (install_server at minimum, other files if possible)
- - OS installation
- - puppet accept/initial run
- - handoff for service implementation
wdqs1010:
- - receive in system on #procurement task T186713
