  But it looks like that should be done at render time. Trying to do it when 
saving the comment sounds nice, but as the discussion above shows, is rather 
problematic.
  
  So, as Lucas is saying, the solution may be giving up on the idea of using a 
Message object when writing the comment, and instead supply plain text and 
data. Or only allow messages with no parameters.
