TASK DESCRIPTION
- (as always) name open for improvements
- create type
- add as possible ApplicationError
- in what is currently called `validateBridgeApplicability` commit this error
via `APPLICATION_ERRORS_ADD` in case the datatype is not supported
- consider if a refactoring is due which would lead to creating the
foundation for the other bail-out paths in the process
