  Please don't think or refer to the blank nodes as "unknown values".
  
  The term used by the wikibase software is "somevalue".  The blank nodes are 
now most commonly used where the information *is* known, but does not have a 
wikidata item.  This is represented by giving the statement the magic 
"somevalue" status, plus adding a `P1932` "stated as" qualifier to give the 
(known) information as a text string.
  
  The fact that the UI reports the value as "unknown" is already a menace, an 
undesirable misrepresentation of how the value is being used.  Please don't 
compound this by letting the characters "unk" or "unknown" anywhere near the 
RDF data model and the sparql interface.
