I don’t understand what this task is asking for. The proper way to access the Commons query service from the Wikidata query service would be through SPARQL federation, not MWAPI – as you certainly know, since you created T265891: Add Wikimedia Commons Query Service endpoint in the WDQS federation whitelist <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T265891> just before this task.
