Please no more UI components.. that would be a maintenance disaster as Wikidata would need to do this for every skin. The API used by the existing UI component is configurable so theoretically Wikidata could have its own API which returns data using the same spec with the right level of abstraction. I think this might be a better approach then rebuilding the UI and all the complexity that would go with it.
