to "Learn Wikipedia" is that they link directly to a section with help of #.

  @Merle_von_Wittich_WMDE You were on the right track. The additional section
fragment should have been last:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikimedia_Deutschland/LerneWikipedia?campaign=WMDE_2021_wikipost_4b_1#Schritt1c

<https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikimedia_Deutschland/LerneWikipedia?campaign=WMDE_2021_wikipost_4b_1#Schritt1c>

  The campaign parameter in the URL was just ignored.

  This one should have worked.

  > Also I've just noticed, that when following the tracked link to Lerne
Wikipedia and then following the registration the tag doesn't appear in the
taskbar anymore. Might that be the reason?

  URL parameters are not automatically passed on to subsequent page requests.
That is where "Adam's hack" comes into play: On dewiki, the campaign parameter
is stored in a cookie if it starts with "WMDE_". When completing the
registration, the cookie's value (the campaign tag) is used if there was no
campaign tag in the URL.

  One more thing: It also seems that the section linking never worked, because
there is no element with the ID "Schritt1c" on that page.
