I believe the current situation, where multiple forms are added to account for spelling variations goes against the spirit of the lexicographical data model, and in particular the idea that there should be exactly one form for each combination of grammatical features <https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Using_Lexemes_in_Abstract_Wikipedia_-_Wikidata_Quality_Days_20220_Presentation.pdf&page=14>. Therefore I think it is important to unblock this situation, and I think my proposal is a simple way to go forward. @mxn @Fnielsen @jhsoby @Ijon @daniel do you mind to chime in regarding this?
