They are not "content" in the same sense as Items are content. Properties are used to describe Items. I do have very mixed feelings about moving Properties up to the same level as Items. Please fix hovercards (a.k.a. Popups extension) instead.
Our example configuration contains no default setting for this. This means, if your repo is set up to use the Item: namespace prefix, this will **not** be a content namespace.
