imho, I say use the existing lists.  imports is an important enough topic for 
the main mailing list.

(it's easy to do imports badly, and the non-technical parts are important like 
figuring out the properties, choosing what to import, and how to maintain the 
data after import. after bad import, the community is left to deal with it 
which is not nice, so I suggest broader communication in the main forums and 
mailing list.)

If we end up with too much traffic there on the topic, then suppose we can 
split.

having the portal like you link is also good as a link to give to partners :)  
and cultural partnerships list can probably also be of help.
