For comparison, wdqs2001 (which is seeing much les user traffic, but the same amount of writes) is showing a GC overhead of ~3.2%, allocation rate of 200mb/sec, max GC time of 1.7 seconds.
Obvious solution to improve throughput: stop sending user traffic to our servers :)
More seriously, this indicates that the write traffic does not appear to be the main issue (good news!).
I see some advice in the blazgraph docs for performance tuning, but it seems mostly related to IO and even more to write load. It might make sense to increase the "write retention queue", since reducing disk writes might indirectly reduce memory throughput as well (just guessing).
I was expecting to see some read caches that might be increased, but I don't find them in the docs.
