Hi,
I have applied for an WMF grant entitled "SOLRSearch" described as: The SOLRSearch extension [1] provides an opportunity to convert all Mediawiki installations into universal SOLR clients, able to simultaneously perform _faceted searches_ across multiple SOLR repositories. This extension includes a "SOLRProxy" by which a wiki can index its pages in one or more SOLR repositories. Indexes applicable to a wikipage are chosen from the vocabulary defined during a SOLR server's configuration. This functional arrangement caters to concerns about impacts of semantics on core Mediawiki processing. Certain vocabularies, e.g., the Simple Knowledge Organization System [2] and Dublin Core Metadata [3], would be available for installation in any SOLR repository. If you have comments about (_OR SUPPORT FOR)_ this project please share them at [1].
