Petr, I have began specing out a migration to action=query in http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Requests_for_comment/Wikidata_API , but that RFC is not yet complete. Will probably work on it when I am in Amsterdam to get that in sync with the Wikidata team... (and convince Denny that the path is correct :))
