What is the canonical, authoritative source to find statistics about
Wikidata?

I see the following counts:

16.5M (current?) - https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:Statistics
19.2M (December 2015) - https://tools.wmflabs.org/wikidata-todo/stats.php

Where do I look for the real number?
