Hi everyone :) In Wikidata people from many different backgrounds work together. As Wikidata grows we can't rely on everyone speaking English anymore. With the development of Wikidata Bridge (the ability to edit Wikidata directly from the other sister projects) we will see another surge in contributions from people who potentially will have to discuss with each other about the content we have without speaking a shared language well enough for that. It was also one of the major topics identified in the session about obstacles to more Wikidata adoption in Wikipedia at Wikimania 2019.
This is not an easily solvable topic but one we need to think about and your input would be very helpful. I opened a page for it here: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Language_barriers_input Cheers Lydia -- Lydia Pintscher - http://about.me/lydia.pintscher Product Manager for Wikidata Wikimedia Deutschland e.V.
