Hello all, As every year, the end of October is the moment where we celebrate Wikidata's anniversary <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Eighth_Birthday>, the work of the contributors and get together as a community :)
Some people are already planning *birthday events* (most of them taking place online). We will run a meetup for organizers <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Eighth_Birthday/Organise#Connect_with_other_organizers>, we provide a digital communication kit <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Eighth_Birthday/Organise#Communication_kit> (including a cool CC0 logo generator <https://wikidata8.bleeptrack.de/>) and you can also find information about funding <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Eighth_Birthday/Organise#Funding>. We are also running an experiment with a 24-hours call <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Eighth_Birthday/24-hours_meetup> where people can join at any time that is convenient for them in their own time zone. The Wikidata birthday is also the occasion to prepare *presents*, for example new tools, scripts, improvements on an existing project, but also non-code gifts.
