I'm really happy I went to Berlin and I hope it helped to get the German Wiki Loves Monuments going. I don't have all the emailaddresses of the people who attended the session Sunday. Could you please forward this message to them or to some maillinglist they read? The big challenge for Germany is the lists of monuments. Germany consists of different area's when it comes to monuments. An area can be as big as a state or as small as a municipality. It's like if Germany is one big puzzle with different size pieces. We need to tackle these area's one by one. The steps we probably need to go through for each area: - An area needs to be identfied (for example, the whole of Köln) - The source for this area needs to be identified - The different fields of the source need to be identified (for example description, address, type, etc) - A header template and a row template needs to be created for the area - The current lists need to be converted and/or new lists need to be created using the templates I'm working on a pilot with user:Elya. This concept can be copied for other area's. When the pilot is ready we need to activate the German Wikipedia community so other area's follow soon afterwards. It's probably good to keep a table of what area's we have so it's easy to keep track of this huge endavour. All the area's need to be aggregated so we can use the information like in other countries and to easliy keep track of the progress of the whole of Germany. I'll keep a close eye on this table.
