Hi All, It would be easy to say to Wayne - Mazal Tov (Congrats!) for all of his fine work to get the Hewlett grant....Yes, Wayne, certainly a job well done done...
However, it is the combined effort of our Community that has really made this possible, which includes Wayne, "you" and me. We have helped Wayne - with our efforts in the wiki - to create a business case for the Foundation to invest in ~ in other words, providing these funds to our community, for our community objectives is really a low-risk investment for them, because we've supported each other, and the vision of WikiEducator. More power to us...and onward! So, thank you to Wayne, and thank you to You! This is everyone's accomplishment, and we take pride in this significant event.... and the many more accomplishments and significant milestones to come. - Randy ________ Randy Fisher - aka "WikiRandy for WikiEducator" iCentro Networks Vancouver, BC +1 604.684.2275 www.icentronetworks.com www.hirerandy.com Skype / Gmail / Yahoo: wikirandy ----- Original Message ---- From: mackiwg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: WikiEducator <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2007 7:11:49 PM Subject: [WikiEducator] Hewlett Foundation award WikiEducator $100 000 Be sure to check out our News on the front page. (http://www.wikieducator.org/Main_Page) The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation award WikiEducator $100000 to build MediaWiki Educator skills for at least 2500 educators in 53 countries under our Learning4Content initiative: http://www.wikieducator.org/Metawikieducator/Learning4Content/Hewlett_bid The COL will also be investing an additional $60000 for this project. The WikiEducator family is proud of this achievement because it is our first funding proposal developed as free content on WikiEducator. The project will widen the skills base among educators to contribute to free content projects like WikiEducator and Wikipedia. I think I should have a glass of red wine to celebrate. I hope WIkiEducators all over the world will do the same! Cheers Wayne __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
