Erik - I think this is a great initiative. Almost like SFD for
Wikipedia - but better. From my desk, am very happy to co- promote
the project.

What did you have in mind? How can we help?

Realistically - we're a small community with a large footprint in the
developing world. The first thing I can think of is to promote the
Edit Wikipedia week in our front page news.

Also - our Newbie tutorials may be of use to wiki colleagues around
the world who are running a training event. (This is free content - so
feel "free" to encourage folk to use these resources.)

If you can find us two experienced Wikipedians (folk who are well
versed in Wikipedia bylaws and editing protocols) - I'd be keen to
promote an online training session to coincide with the Edit Wikipedia
week - among WIkiEducators as our small contribution.

Timing is tight - but I'm sure that this experience would help us co-
ordinate future events.

How frequently is Wikipedia planning to running the initiative?
Perhaps once each season?

I'm very keen to explore ways in which we can promote Wikipedia
through out Learning4Content initiative.

One idea could be for teachers to convert Wikipedia articles into
teaching materials for use in the classroom. Obviously iDevices and
activities would not be appropriate in Wikipedia, but I see a
symbiotic relationship here.

Step 1: Teachers participating in Learning4Content should first find
ways to improve existing Wikipedia articles or create new ones.
Step 2: Learning4Content participants convert the relevant article
into learning materials in WikiEd.

What do you think?
