So, I happened upon a new user's page in the recent changes: http://www.wikieducator.org/User:Kizitomgaga. It turns out that Kizito Mugaga is from Uganda and teaches biology. I sent him a message, but immediately wondered how many biologists do we have?.....the Eureka moment (OK I didn't find penicillin, but useful none the less): a biologist category and why not categories for anyone else needing to connect within specialties. So I made this: http://www.wikieducator.org/Specialties, and then of course this: http://www.wikieducator.org/Category:Biologist
So, what is your category? What other categories are already in place on WE that might be organized in this way? If this idea is useful, by all means have at it and make it better!
