Hi everyone, I've dreamed of the threshold when our WikiEducator family collectively takes on the range of projects and initiatives to ensure our future success. We have now achieved this milestone. This is the fist time in the history of WikiEducator that I'm having difficulty keeping up with all the important action :-). This is an important milestone because we're discovering the secrets of scalability!
It seems that 10,000 users is the magic number! We have a range of projects focused on making the future happen: - Our workgroup on developing guidelines for future workgroups constituted for developing guidelines, policies and procedures for community-wide implementation (see: http://wikieducator.org/Workgroup:WikiEducator_Workgroups ) - Our workgroup on WE Adminstrators figuring out how we identify and support future admins with the tasks of deleting pages, blocking users who may spam our wiki and protecting selcted pages from edits. (see: http://wikieducator.org/Workgroup:WikiEducator_Administrators ) - Our workgroup on developing style guidelines to promote consistency of look and feel while encouraging and supporting newbies in joining our family. (See: http://wikieducator.org/Workgroup:style_guidelines ) - The development of the strategic planning documents of the OER Foundation which is tasked with raising the long term financial resources to support exponetial growth of the WikiEducator project (see: http://wikieducator.org/WikiEducator:OER_Foundation/Strategy ) This is an open invitation to all WikiEducators to visit these pages and help us make the future happen. You're most welcome to join these intiatives and participate in moulding our future. A BIG thank you to all WikiEducators who are taking our initiative to new levels.
