The Book feature is created by the "Collection extension." You can use the "Add a page" (移除维基页面) link to add individual pages to a collection of pages. Special:Book page will show you the pages in your current book, and allow you to generate a PDF for printing or an Open Document Format file for use in OpenOffice (or Google Docs). http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Collection > I also found that I cannot choose template in Wiki? only 2 options where are > rest > of templates ?? I think only 3 or 4 of us have started using the Chinese instance of WikiEducator. I copied a few templates from the English WikiEducator to get the community started. (It is easy to cut-and-paste by viewing the source of the template in one language and pasting it into a correctly named template on another language.) Templates make it easy to reliably enter repeated text (and some formatting) on multiple pages. This adds design interest and consistency to the pages and provides just enough structure to make it easier to reuse the content of the pages in other places. The frequent use of the "pedagogical templates" is one of the things that distinguishes WikiEducator for capturing open educational resources. But you can create additional templates that fit your particular project's needs. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Templates http://wikieducator.org/Quickstart_guide/pedagogical_templates >also when I click Submit , http://zh.wikieducator.org/index.php? >title=Research&action=submit >this page I see error saying Fatal error: I was able to create a "Research" page there without an error. Were you trying to use the mp3 extension to embed audio in the page? Please mail me (directly, not to the list) details about the text of the page and I will try to sort out the problem. The Chinese instance of WikiEducator is really a "green field" waiting for you (and the community) to grow some content and organise it using the English WikiEducator as a model. You asked how to start. One way would be translating some of the English WikiEducator tutorials or Learning4Content materials so that you can grow the community beyond bilingual English readers. Working through the tutorials as you or a group translates them would also provide on-the-job training. http://wikieducator.org/Wikieducator_tutorial -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "WikiEducator" group.
