Hi Everyone, Planning for our inaugural gifting campaign is progressing very well and we've nearly ticked off all the items on the to do list (see: http://wikieducator.org/OERF:Donation_planning)
In summary - - We are nearing completion of the landing page for our donation campaign (http://wikieducator.org/OERF:Donate) - We are collecting messages of support and motivations on why the gift of knowledge is important from education leaders and OER practitioners around the word (http://wikieducator.org/OERF:Why_donate) - WikiEducator's have submitted a number of FAQs relating to the donation campaign (http://wikieducator.org/OERF:Donate/FAQs-Detailed ) - The OER Foundation has completed all the legal and business requirements for administering a charitable gifting campaign (eg Approval of a Donation and Contributing Members Privacy Policy, Registration with the Charities Commission, preparation of documentation to meet legal requirements for invoices and receipting etc.) WE need your help in generating ideas for a successful gifting campaign. What are the things we can or should be doing as a community to improve our success? For example: - Would it be useful to generate a list of practical things WikiEducators can do to help with the campaign? (for example encouraging members to blog about the campaign, including a link to our donation campaign in our email signatures, other ideas?) - Do you have any practical suggestions for things we should do during the campaign? (For example posting one of the motivational messages each week on the list, other ideas?) Please post your thoughts and ideas on the list --- working together we will get closer to achieving our vision, namely that *learning materials* should be *free* for *all students* of the world. A successful gifting campaign will mean WE can increase our collective investment in *educators* to *share knowledge* freely.
