Hi All, This is great news - and a sure sign of progress.
I've checked the download, and sure enough, it's there. It is a bit disappointing though, that it's only for MS Word 2007 and above. I know many people (myself included) and organizations which never made the upgrade from Office / Word 2003. Sigh - Nevertheless, a big thank you to all of the partners who made this happen. - Randy On Tue, Nov 16, 2010 at 5:25 PM, Wayne Mackintosh < [email protected]> wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > Microsoft, working alongside the Open Education Resource (OER) > Foundation<http://wikieducator.org/OERF:Home>at Otago > Polytechnic <http://wikieducator.org/Otago_Polytechnic> and the New > Zealand Ministry of Education, has produced a new, open source extension for > Microsoft Word that allows documents to be saved in a Wiki-friendly format > called MediaWiki, as used by the popular online encyclopedia, Wikipedia. > > Read more: > http://wikieducator.org/Microsoft_Launches_Open_Source_Filter_for_Mediawiki > > Cheers > Wayne > > -- > Wayne Mackintosh <http://wikieducator.org/User:Mackiwg>, Ph.D. > Director OER Foundation <http://www.oerfoundation.org> > Director, International Centre for Open Education, > Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand. > Founder and elected Community Council Member, > Wikieducator<http://www.wikieducator.org%20> > Mobile +64 21 2436 380 > Skype: WGMNZ1 > Twitter <http://twitter.com/#%21/Mackiwg> | > identi.ca<http://identi.ca/waynemackintosh> > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "WikiEducator Teacher Collaboration Forum" group. > To post to this group, send email to > [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > wikieducator-teacher-collaboration-forum+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com<wikieducator-teacher-collaboration-forum%[email protected]> > . > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/wikieducator-teacher-collaboration-forum?hl=en > . > -- ________________ *Randy Fisher (aka WikiRandy), MA, OMD *resume <http://www.wikieducator.org/User:Randyfisher> - services<http://wikieducator.org/User:Randyfisher/TORs/Project_Services>- roles <http://wikieducator.org/User:Randyfisher/Roles> - case studies<http://wikieducator.org/User:Randyfisher/TORs/Case_Studies>- LinkedIn <http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=112703&trk=tab_pro> +1 613.722.5577 (EST) Skype: wikirandy - Strategy, Partnerships, Project Management & Implementation - Facilitating Change & Stakeholder Engagement, "Buy-In", & Mobilization - E-Learning, Web 2.0/Social Media, Online Collaboration - Leadership, Teams & Communities-of-Practice - Coaching & Mentoring *Current Roles * 1.
