Hi Everyone,

As an open education resource project, we are committed to keeping our
content free. Our project is based on a culture of permissions -- where
creators of knowledge give us permission to share, reuse and adapt their
creative works. Microblogging is a great way to share thoughts and ideas and
to connect with your online social networks.

identi.ca is a free micro-blogging service which uses free software with the
added advantage that all content is licensed under a Creative Commons
Attribution license. This means WE are free to share and use this content.

The OER Foundation and WikiEducator are planning to integrate microblog
features in our free online courses. Kudos to Jim Tittsler, our lead
software engineer, who has developed an experimental widget to embed live
feeds based on hashtag searches from identi.ca.

We've set up a demo page for you to take a look and post something using
your identi.ca account (only if you have nice things to say about
WikiEducator :-)).

All feedback and thoughts are most welcome.

2011 will be a quantum shift year for OER!

Cheers
Wayne & Jim
