Hi Everyone,

We are now in the rebuttal
phase<http://www.wsis-community.org/pg/debates/group:14358/phase/251476/252291>of
the UNESCO debate being conducted in collaboration with the OER
Foundation:

*Should OER favour commercial use?*

We are very fortunate to have guest responses from two executive managers:

   - Neeru Khosla, Co-founder and Executive Director of the CK-12
Foundation. The CK-12 Foundation argues that licensing should be a choice
that should include the non-commercial clause.
   - Robin Day, Deputy Chief Executive of Otago Polytechnic, reflects on the
process of adopting a default Creative Commons Attribution intellectual
property policy at the institution and why commercial activity is supported.

I invite you to read and think about these reflections in the context of the
debate:

http://www.wsis-community.org/pg/debates/group:14358/phase/251476/252291

Cast your vote (if you haven't done so yet) and share your thoughts by
posting a comment:

   - What would you recommend for the executive leadership at your
   institution?
   - If an executive manager, what do you think?
   - Has your leadership considered open content licensing? If not why?
   - What aspects of the contributions from our guest contributors would you
   recommend for your own institution?
   - Other thoughts .....

Don't be missed by your absence in this inaugural UNESCO OER community
debate.

2011 will be a quantum shift year for the mainstream adoption of OER in our
institutions.

Cheers
Wayne
