Hi everyone, The Obama administration's department of labour commitment to fund free learning materials is "old" news.
However, what is interesting with the US Department of Labor's press release<http://ht.ly/6F8EZ>confirming the $500 million as the first installment of the $2 Billion 4-year investment in OER is the list of grantees by state and project description: http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/eta20111409fs.htm The resources developed under this investment, will add to the inventory of OER learning materials for reuse by the OER university network. The open OERu network model is not unlike knowledge -- it multiplies through consumption. Similarly the more institutions who join the OER Tertiary Education Network (OERTen) who are implementing the OER university -- the more successful these organisations will become. We are on the verge of achieving the landmark milestone of *10* founding anchor partners for OER*Ten*. Watch this space ....
