I had the privilege in participating in the Opening Education Event convened
by BCcampus recently in Vancouver.

David Porter, Executive Director of BCcampus has posted an excellent blog
summary of the event including links to video recordings from the event:

You can also access the video recordings including the keynote address
delivered by Sir John Daniel and the panel discussion with two
representatives of the OER university network:

Canada has two founding anchor partners in the OER
university<http://wikieducator.org/OER_university/Home>network
(Athabasca University and Thompson Rivers University). I
was inspired by the depth and understanding of open education issues from
participants attending the event.

Watch this space -- Canada is forging a leadership role in building
sustainable education futures.

Don't forget to register as a virtual participant for the upcoming meeting
OERu meeting which will be streamed worldwide:

26 Different countries have already signed up to help plan a parallel
learning universe which will provide free learning opportunities for all
students worldwide with pathways to achieve credible credentials. This
network will be able to accredit OER learning in Asia, Africa, North America
and Oceania.
