Hi everyone, The University of Wollongong (Australia) has confirmed their membership of the OER Tertiary Education network. We extend a very warm welcome to our friends in Australia.
True to the University's mission of research and teaching of international standing through partnership, the University of Wollongong will be working in partnership with universities, colleges and polytechnics in Asia, Africa, North America and Oceania to implement the OER university. In February 2011 we convened<http://wikieducator.org/OER_university/First_meeting>to discuss and propose a logic model for the OER university. Anchor partners suggested the establishment of the OER Tertiary Education Network (OER*Ten*) to implement the ideas. Speaking strategically, we set an ambitious target to recruit ten founding anchor partners by the November meeting. We have now exceeded our ("oer") target with eleven teaching institutions who have joined as founding anchor partners. This is the last chance to secure your place as a *founding* anchor partner ;-). When we write the history of the future of the OERu we will be listing those institutions who joined by the cut-off date for *founding* members on 9 November 2011 -- the inaugural meeting of founding OERu anchor partners. All accredited institutions will be free to join the OERu network as participating partners in the future. The more who join, the more successful the network becomes.
