Hi all, For me the greatest thing that is happening here (OERu, etc.) is the high degree of transparency of process and the fact that all the learning along the way is being shared as free cultural works or libre knowledge.
This is the right thing to do if we stay in touch with our vision (education for all, freedom to learn, ...) and values (e.g. for WikiEducator): diversity, freedom, innovation, transparency, equality, inclusivity, empowerment, human dignity, wellbeing and sustainability. Scalability (and agility) will come as the processes being followed here are adapted by others in different contexts with diverse requirements and quality standards which can largely only be developed and set locally. In respect of ensuring freedom for anyone to do this, please recall the ethical issue associated with one's choice of software to use and support: http://wikieducator.org/WikiEducator:Libre_Software Many thanks and keep up the great work :-) Kim PS Further background to this perspective: http://wikieducator.org/Say_Libre --------------------- On 19 November 2011 02:10, Wayne Mackintosh <[email protected]> wrote: > In a recent interview in the UK, Professor Rory McGreal highlights cost > effectiveness as the key to success of the OERu: > > "Cost effectiveness is the key… How do we educate these 97 million learners > … in a cost-effective manner?
