Hello Wong Leo,

One of the most important precepts would be to avoid shutting down the
child's own deep perceptual system by refusing to acknowledge its validity
and function for the child. I once had a philosophy teacher try to shut me
down when I expressed a universal truth in class. I refused to accept her
judgment of me.

In addition, it would be good to include the Buddhist perspective on what
is real, and how that ties into our responses to our minds, and to
emotional stimulation. Especially, the Center for Compassion and Altruism
Research and Education (CCARE) at the Stanford Medical School has a
curriculum that trains children to be able to hold the position of
compassion and altruism; it was developed in collaboration with the Dalai
Lama and his scholar-monk colleagues. It has been deployed in over 2,000
schools now.

I be Ed Cherlin has more thoughts on this, but he may be too busy writing
his book to respond.

Regards,

Mark Roest
