In the old days (pre-internet), in addition to putting books physically on reserve, we sometimes use to photocopy a portion of a book and leave that on reserve for students to check out and possibly photocopy.
How about today? If I where to scan ten or so pages from a book and put these pages on Blackboard or a web page that is only available to students (not publicly available) could that be considered fair use or is that a violation of the copyright of the material?
