We have an alternative betwen a simple procvess that everyone
understands and which is most unlikely to go wrong, and a much more
complicated one that most Wikipedians do not understand and which is
much more likely to be confusing. to try the complicated one first is
playing technical games with the encyclopedia.

The example given  is simple vandalism, not harmful libel, and what
surprises me about it is that the p. was not very quickly protected to
deal with it.
