That's odd. When I go to upload a new file, both from Special:Upload and
Special:UploadWizard, it shows me the dialog in the last folder from
which I uploaded.
It may be that your browser doesn't respect that, but it seems the logic
thing to do, and you seem to be using Firefox, too.

Interesting, I don't think Firefox has crashed to me in years. I do
remember some cases when trying to upload very big files failed with an
error talking about an "empty file", though.
