Dear all, I would like to ask you some info about the "Flickr to Commons" procedure for WLM. Maybe I'm drowning in a glass of water (don't sure if this is the figure, whatever), but I would like to understand it better.
Lodewijk explained the Italian group that there are tools for it (I knew the flickr2commons bot, and AFAIK it still goes on restlessly from toolserver). He also said that we could use Flickr tags to put some information, as the monument identifier. Is there, somewhere, some documentation about it? (I only found this: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011/Tools#Flickr_import_bot ) I was thinking that, given the lists of monuments, one could engage *right now* the Flickr community. We could have people who want to participate to WLM * put the tags * change the license in CC-BY-SA in these months, and in September we would run the bot to upload everything on Commons. (Is the procedure logically correct? Do I miss something?) Now, my issue is with the timing. --> If I put/upload some picture in Flickr in CC-BY-SA, does the bot upload in Commons right away? This would spoil their participation in WLM. At the same time, I think it would be important to contct users on Flickr and have them re-license (or upload) their photos in CC-BY-SA 8and add metadata as well). I hope to have been clear enough.
