If the idea is that we will get 2x the amount of pictures from last year then 
that half way mark will be some days later. Last year 25% or something of the 
pictures was uploaded in the last day. I guess the half way mark is more around 
the 20th. 
But maybe a banner stating: "Help us beat the record from last year, 30.000 
pictures to go" is possible. 
Another idea could be to use some banner texts to try to improve the image 
quality. I've no ideas for texts for that yet. But if thats possible it would 
be awesome.
