Hi to all the participants of the WLM meeting in Milano.
Unfortunately there are no plans to send some member of the Austrian WLM team to the meeting at Milano on Thursday, 17.04.2013. We were not aware of any invitation to the WLM meeting, before Karthik Nadar mentioned it on this mailing list, and therefore members of other project groups from Austria will attend their workshops in Milano.  So best wishes to the meeting, maybe we soon will read  about the results. If you meet people from the Austrian Chapter in Milano,  please ask them to give you the Austrian WLM calender 2013 with the winning photographs of the contest in 2012.
 
On the other hand I am happy to announce the Kick Off Meeting of the Austrian WLM team for WLM 2013 on Saturday, 27.04.2013 in Vienna.  Of course everybody is invited to meet us there in person :).

Hi,
the schedule of the Wikimedia-Conference (Chapters Meeting) remains unclear. WM Austria will send 3 members of board and staff to Milano.
* On Thursday 2 members of our staff will be there, but they are engaged in the educational workshop and in the WCA meeting. The educational workshop will be from 9 am - 5 pm. After this there will be a meeting for members of the staffs and in the evening should be an opening ceremony. As they told me, nobody of our staff will be able to visit the WLM meeting on Thursday. But I am going to instruct them to meet WLM organizers whenever possible.
* Friday will be open to the "state of the chapters" presentations. Every chapter will have a short pesentation, but as I have been informed, the presentations will last almost all Friday.
* For Saturday there is no written schedule yet, WM IT, the organizing chapter, has not published one until now.
* On Sunday the staff of the WM foundation will give some lectures and discussions about funds dissemination, grants, and similar stuff.
 
Maybe you can meet the board and staff-members from Austria beside the conference and they could give you the photo-calender with the prize-winning pictures from WLM 2012 in Austria.

Shouldn’t we at least have a commonly agreed time frame when the main discussions about WLM will take place?

I’m not planning to attend the Wikimedia Conference, but would travel to Milano specifically for the WLM workshop. Therefore, a clear time “focus” would help me to make my arrangements…

like you, I also need to attend WCA meeting. What I have planned is to attend all important sessions of WCA meeting; otherwise will be there attending the WLM workshop.

yeah, there is some conflicting schedule there. I guess if that helps you, I'm definitely OK if you only join us for part of the meeting - no need to be there from begin to end.

Hello Wikimedians,

 

next week, there will be lot among us present during the Wikimedia Conference, to be held in Milan from 18th to 21st April. There's an open Thursday on the conference schedule, so may be we all call meet and rewind all our experiences. You may share your preferred time slots, if you are attending so that we can schedule ourselves accordingly.

 

Everyone can share your experiences; what went good, and what went away all these years. This will help us to make WLM 2013 much successful.
