This is unfortunate.
Isn't there a way to perform a transition of keys? Perhaps with an
intermediate app.
If the certificate changes, so should do the app name. We can't expect
the end users to manually deinstall the old one before installing.
If nothing better, I would publish a WMF-signed update to the old one
which simply leads you [when opened] to the app store page to install
a new one.
