If you feel that you can't follow the law if you use this setup, please don't use it. It is a service to local teams we offer, we have no intention of forcing it :) Thanks for making people aware they have to follow their own law of course, it is indeed something they should look into for themselves. As the laws are always quite country specific (even within Europe), there is little advantage to discussing them in detail here.
I hope that after the update we can provide piwik codes for all countries that have a website, and that we can set up the necessary accounts for those that want it.
