Maybe a solution would be a new tool acting as an interface? Use P2186 but also the other "national" properties/combinations. Upsides: - we can define the API - we can adapt to any variation in tracking items, now or later - we can remove individual solutions as the community migrates to P2186 Downsides: - work - slower service than wikidata proper - no direct SPARQL - likely needs to maintain its own database (for performance reasons), which needs to be kept in sync with Wikidata
